The Borkoshavski Academy was founded in 1991 by retired superhuman, Goldwing. It was his intention to create a campus that allowed people with natural super powers to either master their abilities and go into a career of heroics, or to hopefully live a normal life- on or off campus. The inspiration behind this was, upon discovering that his wife, Helena Borkoshavski, was pregnant with a son, he wanted a stable environment in which that child, and other powered children, could grow old together.

After a number of incidents in the 90s, Ala himself would become a recluse. Though still the principal, several staff members would take on direct interaction with students. Among them, school nurse Taylor Grace Reseda, former leader of the Olympians Athena, and Home Economics Professor, Dr. Linh. Ala would come out of hiding in 2005, upon the disocvery of several old files pertaining to the school's past, as well as the past of "Outsiders" culture. He would hire sophmore, Opal Yazzie, to translate these files, and put them up on her website, The Olympian Archives.
